As an Endorsed IWA event, you will command a high degree of recognition within the water sector. Your event will be regarded as part of IWA portfolio and will be collectively identified with our high standards. For a Supported event, we will lend our name as a ‘Supporting Organisation’. IWA is a world-leading global water association with an established reputation for high-quality activities. You will reach a wider audience within the water sector with increased recognition, awareness and promotion.
To obtain IWA support, your event must align with our quality standards and must be organised by an internationally-recognised entity. The event should be supported by an IWA structure (e.g., Young Water Professional, Specialist Group). The scope of the event must be international. The event must be supported by the Governing Member of the host country. The theme of the event must be relevant for IWA’s members. Also, the event must provide a clear benefit to IWA and IWA’s members. We mainly support events organised by non-profit organisations but we may consider exceptions to this. Not all the events are entitled to be supported. The proposal will be reviewed in order for it to receive approval.
The proposal will be reviewed internally by IWA Secretariat conference staff. The Secretariat will respond within a timeframe of up to two weeks following submission. If all criteria are met, the proposal will receive final approval. Once approved, ongoing communication will be established between the IWA Secretariat and the Organising Committee to support event promotion. Please note that the use of IWA branding and logo is strictly prohibited until official approval has been granted.
Contact us at least 24 months before the proposed conference date. Submit the proposal at least 18 months before the conference date. Check the full list of IWA events to avoid any duplication or overlap with other conferences. Ensure a strong, competent and committed Programme Committee, ideally containing 80% IWA members. Obtain approval from the relevant Specialist Group, if it is a specialist conference by IWA Specialist Group – please provide evidence of their approval (email or letter). The support of the IWA Governing Member (if there is one) in the country of the host city or the Committees of the region – please provide evidence of their support (email or a letter).
IWA members will get discounted tickets to attend all endorsed/supported IWA events.
The IWA event fee is calculated by taking the total number of non-member delegates, multiplying it by the difference between the IWA member and non-member registration fees, and then dividing the result by two (50%).
